Seychellois in Venice

Seychellois artist Egbert Marday made his historic debut at the 61st Venice Biennale in 2026, one of the world’s most renowned exhibitions of contemporary art.


Marday is representing the Seychelles in the National Pavilion with the exhibition titled “Existence on an Island” and is presenting his artwork “Spiritual Journey” (2015) at the Palazzo Mora in Venice.


Known for his powerful and authentic artistic style, Marday’s participation marks an important milestone for Seychelles’ contemporary art on the international stage.


The Venice Biennale runs from May 9 to November 22, 2026.
