Laboratory surveillance and retrospective testing show that dengue, Zika and chikungunya have been present in the country since 2024, with active dengue transmission persisting and a recent rise in chikungunya reports coinciding with the rainy season.

The cabinet has decided to declare February 1 a national holiday. This day is known as “Abolition of Slavery Day.”

The airline will now fly to Seychelles twice a week, on Sundays and Tuesdays.
